about-mission

FoodnCraft is solely a directory to help locals find nearby food or crafted product that is already purchasable at a farmstand table or other purchasable points. We only help put your farmstand, store, or crafted based business on the map for people who want to shop local. Just like any classified’s or directory website, we do not guarantee the quality or authenticity of what is listed. If you think a non-local business or fraudulent listing is posted, contact us at hello@foodncraft.com and we’ll investigate.

mission-sourcing

FoodnCraft is always improving for local growers and crafters. Remember, just like your plants, we’re always growing! We love updating ourselves thanks to your suggestions, and if something seems confusing or too difficult but you want to be listed, contact us and we’d love to help!

mission-sourcing

For shoppers who search our site looking for local goods, it’s important that you make your listings clear and not too vague. We encourage that if you have plenty of different products, and that you create different listings for each of them so they’re easier to find!

Hi Jane!

Jane has a little farm stand in front of her yard letting people know she sells bunches of daffodils. So, she creates a listing that is titled “Daffodils” and categorized as flowers. She adds a description about her flowers, and how she takes payment and details of how to find the stand since it’s a little hard to see.

Hello Joey!

Joey has a larger plot in his back field. He sells and stocks a lot of cucumber, tomato, and different peppers. But, he also has some fruit trees of peach and cherry, but doesn’t have enough that would be the majority of what he sells.

So Joey creates 4 listings. One titled tomatoes, one cucumbers, and one peppers with a description of the different varieties of peppers he has. His descriptions also include how to find his farmstand at the end of his driveway. He creates a fourth listing under the ‘Fruit’ category that is just titled ‘mixed tree fruits’ where he puts in the description the few bushels he has of each tree fruit he has.

Welcome Rebecca!

Rebecca manages a larger farm with a store front as well as a separate food co-op store selling local farmed goods.

Since she wants to really showcase all the products, she creates new listings for each of the products. She also links the store’s website and facebook page so people can shop and connect there too. As a new batch of local pumpkins are beginning to get harvested and put up for sale, she creates a new listing for “Pumpkin’s” and in the description writes all the varieties she has and posts lots of pictures. Her co-op has sold through this season’s batch of tomatoes however and she deletes the listing so people don’t come looking for tomatoes.

Bonjour Dave!

Dave package’s and sells his bees honey and has different varieties. He knows people can be picky about their varieties so he has a listing for “Mountain flower honey” and “Blueberry Honey”. He also sells a local potter’s mugs and bowls at his shop. He lists those too since he’s where the potter sells their work at.
